5 things to pack for a trek
1 Comfort is the key
Starting from your cap to your shoes, you must completely be ready for a trek. The quality, comfort, and protection offered by a good pair of trekking shoes outweigh any other trekking or hiking gear you may have ever purchased. Along with that, you need good warm trekking socks and a pair of flip-flop.
2 Medicines and Sanitation
Chances are that you might not find immediate medical support when trekking. It is important to carry the basic medication, for example, band-aids, aspirin, stomach and other basic antibiotics, anti-flu tablets and rehydration powders. Along with these, you may need to pack some cotton, sterilized gauge and antiseptic lotion as well as water. Another essential pack must include sanitation materials; toilet paper, hand sanitizer, sanitary napkins and a small towel.
3 skin protection
Skin protection is crucially important while going for treks. Bring the highest SPF sunscreen you can find and wear a hat at all times. The sun's rays are exceptionally powerful at altitude and you'll find yourself especially exposed when there isn't a cloud in the sky.
4 Snacks and Water
One thing you must remember to cross out from your list is snacks and drinks that bloat you, are heavy and too sweet. Chips, Carbonated drinks, sugary crackers are some of the food to exclude from the list. However, you would want to take a small stash combination of Snickers bars, granola/power bars, a jar of peanut butter and crackers. You'll want a little bit of both salty and sweet foods.
Maps and compass have been replaced by the modern technology of cell phones and tablets so it is essential to carry your gadgets along with extra battery pack because you do not want to get lost. Make sure before leaving you to have a 100% charge in your gadgets as it is highly likely not to find places to charge so a portable power bank would be helpful.
